An Overview of Quantum Image Processing
Pierre Boulanger
Quantum Image Processing (QIMP) aims to overcome the shortcomings of classical computers and enhance the efficiency of classical algorithms by offering new methods for storing and manipulating images. The challenge of quantum computation lies in developing efficient quantum algorithms, which are very different from those used in classical computers. Despite the limitations of current quantum computer hardware, many algorithms have been developed to perform quantum image encoding, classify and segment images using quantum hybrid approaches, and reduce noise using quantum annealing. This presentation is intended to review the advancements in QIMP and its current state-of-the-art. The talk will be a high-level presentation, with live illustrations using remote access to Google Colab.
